Two choices work on a card. A vCard code saves your details to the phone in one tap and needs no website; it is the bigger code, so give it 2.5 cm. A link code to your site or LinkedIn stays small (2 cm) and lets the page do the talking. Use the type tabs above to switch.
Printers need vector: export SVG and hand it over with the artwork. Keep the quiet zone (margin 2 or more) inside the card’s safe area, not in the bleed. Matte and uncoated stock scan more reliably than gloss. If the card is dark, the code needs its own light plate; a transparent inverted code on dark card is the classic way to get no scans at a trade show.
Questions
What is the minimum size for a QR code on a business card?
2 cm for a short link code, 2.5 cm for a vCard, each with a clear margin of at least 2 modules. Smaller works on a good phone and fails on a bad one.
vCard or link?
vCard if you want to be saved as a contact. Link if you want them to see a page. Both is fine if the card has room.
