Terms of Use

Updated 5 November 2026

qrhue.com is operated by Avlas Digital (registered business name No. 793798, Companies Registration Office, Ireland), Park House, The Square, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, F12 HE97, Ireland. By using the site you agree to these terms. Irish law applies.

1. The free generator

The QR code generator, the scan check and the QR code test are free for personal and commercial use. The codes and files you create are yours; we claim no rights in them and attach no watermark. Static codes contain your content directly and do not depend on qrhue in any way after download.

The scan check runs a real decoder on your design under simulated conditions. It is a strong indicator, not a guarantee: cameras, lighting, print quality and surfaces vary. Print one copy and test it on real phones before any large print run. We are not liable for the cost of reprinting codes that do not scan.

2. Acceptable use

Do not create codes that point to malware, phishing, fraud, content that is illegal in Ireland or the EU, or that impersonate others. For editable codes we check destinations against known-abuse lists and may disable a code that breaks this rule, with notice to the email on the account where we can.

3. Editable codes: yearly and lifetime slots

When available, an editable code lives in a slot. A slot is bought either for one year (currently €10) or for good (“lifetime”, currently €29); prices are per slot, exclude VAT, which is added at checkout at the rate of your country, and are shown on the pricing page. Up to 10 slots can be bought in one order. A slot holds one editable code at a time: a short link on qrhue.com that you can point at any destination and change without limit. Delete the code and the slot is free for a new one at no charge. Payment is processed by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record for the purchase, collects any applicable VAT and issues the receipt. Slots are tied to the email address used at checkout; a one-time 6-digit code is emailed to that address to sign in.

A yearly slot runs for 12 months from payment and does not renew automatically: no card details are stored by qrhue and no further charge is made without a new order from you. We send reminders to the email on the account about 30, 7 and 1 day before the end date. For 30 days after the end date the code keeps redirecting as before. After that the short link shows a short “not active” page instead of redirecting, and the code cannot be edited; the code, its design and its statistics are kept for 365 days from the end date, during which paying for a further year (or for lifetime) restores everything as it was. After 365 days without renewal the slot and the code in it are retired for good and the short link is released. A yearly slot may be converted to a lifetime slot at any time by paying the lifetime price then current.

“Lifetime” means for the life of the service with no further payment from you, and in any case for at least 10 years from the date of purchase. We will keep redirects running for as long as qrhue operates, and you may export the list of your codes and destinations at any time. If the service were ever to close, we will give at least 12 months’ notice by email to the address on the account, during which redirects keep working and exports stay available.

Fair use. An editable code is meant for people scanning a printed or displayed code. Each code includes up to 50,000 scans a month. Above that, or where the short link is used as a general redirect service (apps, automated traffic, links shared outside a QR code), we may serve the redirect without recording statistics, slow it down, or ask you to agree a plan that covers the traffic. We will contact the email on the account first wherever we can.

You may request a refund within 14 days of a purchase (a new slot, a renewal or a conversion to lifetime) if no code in the slot has recorded a scan since that payment. Once a code has been scanned it has been used, and the right to cancel under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 no longer applies to that payment, which you acknowledge at checkout. A code you delete keeps answering with a short “retired” page for 30 days so printed copies do not land on an error overnight; after that the short link is gone for good. A code can be handed to another email address from the account page; the slot moves with it, including its plan and end date.

4. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available at all times but do not guarantee it. We may change or withdraw features of the free generator. Changes to these terms are posted here with a new date.

The site is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Avlas Digital is not liable for indirect loss, loss of business or reprinting costs arising from use of the site. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you.
